Week 1 of the Castor Oil Challenge has now come to the end. Here is my check in for this week:
I’m using Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil for the challenge. The specific formula I’m using has lavender oil added to it for fragrance. Truthfully, I don’t think anything can dress up the smell of black castor oil but A for effort. When this bottle is done, I’ll try either the Extra Dark, Argan oil or the Pimento oil version.

This year I will be participating in the Winter 2012 Castor Oil Challenge. It is a 13 week commitment to use the castor oil of your choice a minimum of 3x per week in hopes of growing longer and fuller hair. Participants are expected to check in once a week to answer some questions about their progress. There will be prizes awarded throughout the challenge as well as a grand prize at the end of the challenge which will be awarded to one lucky person who has been an active participant (minimum 9 check-ins) throughout the challenge.
For those of you who would like to take part, you have until December 7th to register. Details regarding registration are on the website.
Click here to visit the Kinky Curly Coily Me website for further details and to register.
I’ve attached a screen shot of my entry below. I’d love to hear from anyone who will be taking part in the challenge with me. Happy growing!

Study Finds: Natural Blond Hair Is Not Only Attributed to Europeans
The common occurrence of blond hair among the dark-skinned indigenous people of the Solomon Islands is due to a homegrown genetic variant distinct from the gene that leads to blond hair in Europeans, according to a new study from the Stanford University School of Medicine.

One of the reasons why I decided to go natural was the fact that I’m a strong advocate of working with your natural beauty and enhancing it when/where necessary. This video is a prime example of enhancing one’s natural beauty and the outcome is fantastic.
